Christmas and After
This Christmas, after eating breakfast, my dad read from Luke and from Matthew and we talked about what Christmas is about. Most people are always stressing that we need to remember that it is about Jesus' birth. Yes, this is true, but what a lot of people miss is that this is not the main reason we celebrate it. The main reason we must remember is because of God's becoming man, and coming down to Earth. Yes, we must remember that Jesus was born, but what we are celebrating has to do with Jesus' death more than his birth. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and I love you all!
Ok, for Christmas, Joel got some things for his Bass, and this CD on the left I got and it is so funny. The band is a Ska genre, and it is Christian. And, surprisingly, on the CD, they had done a redo of the song, "It's Not Unusual", originally by Tom Jones from 1965. It's fun, and I am very grateful to my family and friends for their kindness to me.
Today, we are all lounging, which we pretty much have been doing, hehe, just kidding. Abby loves playing this song on the piano called Comptine d'un autre été. It is very beautiful and you can go to her blog to see the computer animated story that goes with the song. On the right, Elle is wearing a new sweater that she got and holding our little cutie, Aspen. Yesterday, she got a bone for Christmas and then she buried it and none of us could find it, lol.
Abby got Chris Rice Living Room Sessions for the piano. I love playing pieces that are beautiful like his piano and that glorify God in the same way. A lot of times I get lost playing the piano, with my fingers flowing (sorta) over the keys playing the old hymns or worship songs. It's easy to start singing also, and, even though the family tells me to spare them with my voice, I love it. :)
Yesterday, Christmas, Elle got a Trombone! My mom and dad sometimes put notes in a box that we open and we have to red the clue to see what our present is. Halfway when she was reading it, she started crying because she knew that it was a Trombone, and she was so happy! Of course, she doesn't know how to play it, but we got her some DVD's to help her at home, and perhaps, in time, we will have a whole band made out of our family.
From my very generous parents me and my siblings got another Wii controller and Mario Party 8 which is perfect for playing against each other. My Grandma also got us a strange Wii game called Rayman Raving Rabids. I have not played it yet, but I think that Elle enjoys it very much.
At the end of the day, we rented 'A Beautiful Mind'. It was one of the most beautiful and sad movies, it made me cry very much. The way that they did the movie, though, was good. The man, at the beginning of the movie, was very proud and all he wanted was recognition, but after he gives up his pride and is humbled by circumstances, then, in the end, he is recognized. It was a very good message to remind us of our pride and what happens when we are ensnared in it.
