Christmas and After

This Christmas, after eating breakfast, my dad read from Luke and from Matthew and we talked about what Christmas is about. Most people are always stressing that we need to remember that it is about Jesus' birth. Yes, this is true, but what a lot of people miss is that this is not the main reason we celebrate it. The main reason we must remember is because of God's becoming man, and coming down to Earth. Yes, we must remember that Jesus was born, but what we are celebrating has to do with Jesus' death more than his birth. I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and I love you all!

Ok, for Christmas, Joel got some things for his Bass, and this CD on the left I got and it is so funny. The band is a Ska genre, and it is Christian. And, surprisingly, on the CD, they had done a redo of the song, "It's Not Unusual", originally by Tom Jones from 1965. It's fun, and I am very grateful to my family and friends for their kindness to me.

Today, we are all lounging, which we pretty much have been doing, hehe, just kidding. Abby loves playing this song on the piano called Comptine d'un autre été. It is very beautiful and you can go to her blog to see the computer animated story that goes with the song. On the right, Elle is wearing a new sweater that she got and holding our little cutie, Aspen. Yesterday, she got a bone for Christmas and then she buried it and none of us could find it, lol.

Abby got Chris Rice Living Room Sessions for the piano. I love playing pieces that are beautiful like his piano and that glorify God in the same way. A lot of times I get lost playing the piano, with my fingers flowing (sorta) over the keys playing the old hymns or worship songs. It's easy to start singing also, and, even though the family tells me to spare them with my voice, I love it. :)

Yesterday, Christmas, Elle got a Trombone! My mom and dad sometimes put notes in a box that we open and we have to red the clue to see what our present is. Halfway when she was reading it, she started crying because she knew that it was a Trombone, and she was so happy! Of course, she doesn't know how to play it, but we got her some DVD's to help her at home, and perhaps, in time, we will have a whole band made out of our family.
From my very generous parents me and my siblings got another Wii controller and Mario Party 8 which is perfect for playing against each other. My Grandma also got us a strange Wii game called Rayman Raving Rabids. I have not played it yet, but I think that Elle enjoys it very much.

At the end of the day, we rented 'A Beautiful Mind'. It was one of the most beautiful and sad movies, it made me cry very much. The way that they did the movie, though, was good. The man, at the beginning of the movie, was very proud and all he wanted was recognition, but after he gives up his pride and is humbled by circumstances, then, in the end, he is recognized. It was a very good message to remind us of our pride and what happens when we are ensnared in it.

All thru' the House Every Creature was Stirring

Hey guys, I'm sorry I haven't been able to blog very often recently. On Friday the 14th, Christmas break finally arrived! Yesterday I had a blast going to the theater with my friends, and we went to go see Enchanted. It was histerically-exaggerated, hehe, even though that's not a word. We all sat in the front rows, like, maybe the 3rd from the very front. It was actually quite relaxing. Sometimes, though, random whispers in my ear to pass the popcorn down were distracting to what was going on in the movie. I enjoyed it very much though. Also, I always keep the studs from my tickets, so I put them out here, and thought it would make a cool picture, lol, I hope you enjoy trying to figure out what movies I went to see.

Right now we are expecting company for a day, our friends the Cagles, and we have been cleaning a lot. My room is so very play empty when it is clean, but my bed I have not had the chance to make hehe. Also, our dog, Aspen, never does anything but sleep! She is such a lazy dog, we need to take her on walks or something. She usually only stays in her kennel, though if my father is home; she is deathly afraid of him!

Christmas always reminds me of joy. It presents to me, every year, the Hope that we have in our lives, and the wonderful breath that we can breathe free because of our Savior Jesus Christ! I hope that you all are much encouraged as I have been these past few days, and that this happiness and hope will stay with us during the remainder of the school year. Christmas-time may bring us more giddy or jolly thoughts, but these should never be absent in our lives through the whole year. I hope that you all have a good Christmas!

Thanksgiving Dinner and Fun

For Thanksgiving, we went to our friends, the Walters' house. We got to their house around 3 pm, but we had to wait another hour or so before eating because the turkey in the oven wouldn't cook. I think Abby is probably the only one who looks good in this picture from our family. The grownups always have a good habit of taking pictures while we eat. We enjoyed some very lovely games and fellowship with them and their family, and I am very grateful to God for having such great friends as these. Also, we had so much pie! We still have pie from Thanksgiving, and its been five days.

Haha...
Maybe blurry is good. :)
Elle and I did some model shots with our hair crazy on our head. Elle looks like a gangster with the toothpick in her mouth.

We all took pictures of ourselves and this is probably one of my most decent. The girls took pictures of their noses, mouths and eyes really close, but I stuck with the face.

Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time

Christmas time is around the corner and I have been singing Christmas songs every morning when I wake up and when I am not doing school. I have also been so inspired as to go to Amazon and put on my wishlist all the Christmas CD's that I want. I'm so excited!! Except, one problem; I don't even think we have any plans for Christmas. I don't think we even have plans for Thanksgiving! But, even if we don't spend our time with friends or family, I will be as thankful and as joyful. And, I have no money for presents and upcoming birthdays so I need a job!!!

I happen to like the 50's soc-hop times etc. And thus, everything in the oldies days' is beautiful to me. However, this does not mean that I dress this way or wear my hair like that....thankfully....hehe I hope that you will enjoy my blog throughout time.
